Lenovo notes that the hinge is made-up from 800 pieces of aluminum and steel, and it has six focus points instead of two, allowing the YOGA 3 Pro to still fold into its four characteristic modes: laptop, tablet, tent, and presentation, while preserving its 2-in-1 look.
The new Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro has new changes besides the new hinge, the new device is thinner, only 12.8mm at its thickest point and weights 2.62 pounds. The Yoga 2 Pro was 15.24mm and weighed 3.1 pounds. The Ultrabook still a 13.3-inch device with a screen resolution of 3200 x 1800. The same spec as the Yoga 2 Pro. However Lenovo is making the jump to Intel’s latest Core M-70 processor (Yes, with the Broadwell chip), which brings new processing power to the mobile market and improved integrated graphics.
The Yoga 3 Pro can be configured with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. On the sides, there are two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, Micro HDMI out, and SD card reader. Battery life has improved and Lenovo claims up to 9 hours even with the Wi-Fi 802.11ac one. And with a battery that is smaller than its predecessor and thank to the new hinge design, smaller battery, and the new Core M processor, helps to make the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro a thinner Ultrabook.
