The Z20t still a tablet, more than it is a laptop, with a detachable keyboard. It features an Intel Core M processor, which makes the device fanless, but powerful enough to do the work of a normal laptop. It is a 12.5-inch device with a screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with 10-point multi-touch support, a Wacom digitizer with 2,048 points of sensitivity and Toshiba’s Digitizer Pen with eraser, configurable up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of internal SSD storage. Also inside are 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. As for ports, the tablet have a Micro-USB and Micro-HDMI ports, and a microSD card slot. All inside a black premium magnesium chassis.
The Toshiba Portege Z20t is also very thin and light; the tablet part weighs 1.6 pound and with the keyboard attached weighs 3.3 pounds. Battery life is great, according to the company a single charge will hold for 9.1 hours or 17.4 hours with the keyboard attached.
Opposed to the Surface Pro 3 2,160 x 1,440 screen resolution the Z20t only tops at 1,920 x 1,080, which can be a deal breaker for many consumers. However, Toshiba is primarily aiming this device to business users, which are not particular concerned about the pixel count.
The tablet will go on sale in January, with option of 4GB or 8GB for RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB SDD. The starting price will be $1,399 without the digitizer, all the way to around $1,899.
